#SummerBloggerChallenge - Summer Senses

We're on week 6 of this challenge, and slowly but surely I'm becoming more resentful & jealous of everyone's summer ideals and plans.
This week's post was to look into summer scenes, and my take on this is to look into my summer scents. Some of these are new and others are old, but each scent holds a summer of memories….I'm not sure if I'm alone here or others feel the same way, but I love keeping a hold onto memories and I have many ways of remembering moments. By this I mean, an item of clothing, my hair colour at the time, the photos from that day, music and most importantly scents. Although it may have no connection to what I'm doing these things keep that memory in my mind, specially scents…whenever I walk past someone who has that scent of perfume, body spray or aftershave, my mind instantly goes back to a day or time.
This relates to me over the whole year, but I'm obsessed with summer scents, floral & sweet perfumes are my go-to's, so they're with me almost all year round. I'm also a hoarder for the finished bottles.
So here I have my 3 current summer smells, alongside two from years ago…one being from 5 years ago now, woah!

My two old scents we're both purchased in Duty Free on my way home from holidays. And although I didn't use them until I returned home, both of these smells remind me of those holidays. Both scents we're sweet and floral, however weren't very long lasting. I wish I could describe the smells properly, but honestly they both ran out years ago & I haven't repurchased them since…I've wanted another bottle of 'Love from New York' but it seems it must've been limited edition. I purchased this the summer I completed high school, so this remind me of the end of my exams, my prom & the exciting summer as I moved on from high school troubles & started my course at college…It's weird to believe this was 5 years ago now!?

My current scents are these beauties. Until last summer I kept away from Marc Jacobs perfumes, mainly down to price range & the fact I didn't realise how nice it smelt. I'd decided last summer I needed a new perfume & Dot was my first purchase. Purely down to luck & getting this smell at only £36 (which seems like a bargain). Dot now reminds me of last summer, completing a challenge year at university, spending a month at my old primary school as part of work placement & helps me keep the memory of that summer as a sweet, fresh and warm summer, I actually wrote about it last year, here. And although I got it for Christmas, my next Marc Jacobs was Daisy, I'm hoping to saving just a little bit of the scent to use over summer as I find the smell perfect for this time of year, post here. My final scent is Wonderstruck from Taylor Swift, this is my only re-purchase of perfumes. I brought it two years ago at the end of summer & again such a strong, floral and sweet smell and while wanting to save my other smells that little bit longer, I bought this perfume this year to become a scent that reminds me of 2014.
As this post was summer scenes, I wanted to mention lipsticks…not really sure how it connects to senses or summer. But these three are amongst my latest purchases, and I believe I'll be using them throughout summer time. At the start of June I purchase the lip scrub from Lush, I'm not the biggest victim of dry lips, but I do love them feeling soft so this purchase is not only a sweet smell of bubblegum but also keeps my lips feeling good, which everyone needs a little as the summer months makes skin & lips a little dry.
I'm also becoming very much obsessed with corals, pinks & orangey reds this summer, specially when it's included in my make-up and from first seeing both these lip shades, I've fallen in love. Adding a little extra colour to my make-up. I've got a post coming up on the Sleek lipstick soon, so keep an eye out for that!?

This is such a pretty post, I love your photos! I'm a HUGE fan of Wonderstruck. I've ran out of mine, but I have some of the body lotion and it's such a beautiful scent. It really brings back a lot of memories for me and I need to get around to re-purchasing it. xo
