Picking new glasses; A SpecsPost Review.

SpecsPost Review; A pick between three.

I've had these glasses for a while now, and feel the need to apologise for leaving this so long. I've tried to keep these hidden from myself for those weeks until writing this post, I mean I've almost forgotten how these glasses look now, oops! And it was just last night when I realised I've had my certain pair of glasses for just over a year now, it's around this time where my glasses loose their 'cool' with me and I'm always ready for a new prescription by this point too, but so far so good and my eyes are doing well. However, I'm a fussy person and love the choice of some new lens. And SPECSPOST is one of those sites I'll search for hours looking for my second pair, (not that I've ever bought a second pair, but now might be that time).
One of the pro's of SpecsPost, is their opportunity to try on before buying...for me personally picking my glasses is the fun part of going to the opticians, and this just brings that fun to your home. When searching the site if you fall in love with any lens, SpecsPost allows you for a small (later returned) deposit choose 3 pairs of lens to trial over the space of a week. I adore the choice of this website, and the fact they use customer (and blogger) photos to advertise their glasses, showing the every-day people who use their products, the site also has simple navigation links - womens, mens, both, under so and so price, brands, collections - simple and sometimes just what you need to look through so many choices. So you may know I'm excited to be reviewing some of these lens for you..and myself!
I actually own Ray-bans Wayfarers at the moment, don't get me wrong I'm totally in love with them...I plan on wearing these for as long as possible, but some times the glasses just don't co-operate with me and that tends to stress me out. I'm not a self-conscious person when wearing glasses but knowing I'm wearing a good pair and proud does make wearing them a little easier, all glasses wearers know the short falls of some peoples comments, so knowing I have a nice pair makes me feel at ease.

My first choice while having a search were these retro lenses, and I'm actually slightly in love. Although I'm now used to larger frames these we're slightly on the smaller side for me, I'm sure if they were wider I'd be purchasing these in a heartbeat. I love the difference in these, as I'm used to normal shaped lenses these are on the 'wild' side but I feel as though I'm bringing out the 'grease nerdy girl' in me, yep that's the phrase I'm going to refer to.

The new range of Colour Collection was something that intrigued me, a way of combining a very popular frame style (just like the ones I already own), but with a hint of colour, genius! Definietly for the quirky people who want their glasses to stand out. I adore green at the moment, of all shades and this colour is no exception, though I'm not too sure how comfortable I'd feel walking the streets in bright green glasses, though that's my own worries...I'd totally do it if I could!?

Just like the green pair, these purple frames are from the same collection, I picked these as they felt much more subtle in colour and I think that's safe to agree with! I'm also a big fan of pastels at the moment and these fit that ideal. As I mentioned these are similar in shape to the my Ray-ban Wayfarers, however these are definitely a wider frame to the ones I currently own.

As you can probably tell I can't choose a favourite from my choices and I'm not sure which pair are going to be my back-up pair..so suggestions will gladly be taken, as I'd love to have a second pair for those days I want to try something different. I hope you all choose to have a search of the SpecsPost website and look for your new pair as, well they have some lovely choices!

  7. All 3 pairs are lovely, I wouldn't be able to choose between them! I've bought glasses from SpecsPost before but I've never tried the try at home service. I might have to give it a go as I fancy some new glasses, a pair of mine are looking a bit scratty now. x
