Saturated Colour: Make Me Matte Lipstick

Saturated Colour: Make Me Matte Lipstick.

We all have our opinions on the matte lipstick tread, love or loathe it, we've all given it a go. Majority of the products I've tried have been too drying and damaging to my lips so I quickly gave up. I'd actually given up on lipstick altogether until recently but I won't bore you about that.
When Saturated Colour contacted me about reviewing one of their products, I came across the Make Me Matte and I jumped at the chance and I knew you'd all be excited about this as I was. The Make Me Matte is advertised as a mini magic wand, able to transform your satin lipsticks to a glorious matte finish.
If you've been following me for a while you'll know I'm usually quiet skeptical over products like this...'I'll believe it when I see it' and all that, but this time I tried being a little more open minded, purely due to my excitement. I received this matte lipstick, alongside two samples of their lipSStick ranges, both a shiny/satin finish, in the shades 'toxic pink' and 'lady in red'. While the pink is a little too bright for my lips, the red is right up my street.
The use of this is pretty simple; once you've applied your colour of choice, you apply the make me matte and it works it's magic and hey presto, your lips are almost instantly matte. I tested this out over a few days once it arrived to get my overall thoughts, surprisingly I haven't a bad word to say. I think the product could be improved but overall I'm really impressed. The texture of the lipstick feels quiet chalky and almost rubber but that doesn't transfer to your lips; although you do have to be aware that this product can leave your lipstick a little smudged, so you'll definitely have to clean up your lip line afterwards. I found that the lasting time of both products was short, almost that the make me matte made it last a little less than normal, but lip products don't tend to have a long lasting time on my lips for some reason. While I'm impressed with the finish and the magic, those points were worth a mention, it still creates this matte finish without the damaging feel from other products I've used, it keeps your lips feeling soft like most satin finish products do. It's a rather subtle finish so some may not agree that it's complete matte but as you can see from the swatches, theres a noticeable difference. Which I think works perfectly for those first experimenting with matte finishes, or aren't overly sold on the drying textures.
The best thing about this product is that it works well with other products not only the SC LipSStick range, I tested this with a few MAC and Makeup Revolution products and it works in the same way, giving the same subtle finish. I'm a fan of Make Me Matte and will continue to use this product.
Have you tried the Make Me Matte before? Or is it something you've be interested in trying?
