8 Adventures I Want To Take: A Travel Bucket-list.

EIGHT ADVENTURES I WANT TO TAKE:

A TRAVEL BUCKETLIST.

If you'd told me a couple months ago I'd be writing a post like this; I'd laugh in your face.

People find me quite complicated and moments like this, I totally understand why. I'm quite complicated in general and I end up apologising for that almost daily, but this, this is a little different and to some (especially my friends and family) might seem a little more infuriating. A couple years back all I wanted was to travel and see the world, I had it all planned out in my head. I'd written list upon list of places I wanted to see, places I wanted to relax and all the adventures I wanted to go on.

I guess what I shouldn't do is try and pin point or give blame to someone or something for changing my mind. However until a month ago, I've spent the last couple of years being terrified of going away, I'd have mild panic attacks and loose my breathe at the thought of going away, even somewhere overnight but ultimately I conquered that fear this year and over the last two weeks I've searched the interwebs for holiday, UK holidays, weekend breaks, relaxing sun/beach holidays and even looking at travelling to the other side of the world.

Being complicated is an understatement right?

I know, how does a girl go from being so terrified to planning so many trips. I felt like I had minimal control over plans for the last couple of years and I think in some ways it's probably true. Until 2015 I went on holidays with my family and in 2015 I went on two holidays, one w/ my family and another with Tom. Both were ultimately amazing but both triggered something, so I took a step back from wanting to go away from a while. Tom has been ready for another holiday and this time, a destination of his choice, (...I know right, how was Disneyland not a joint decision?) but I refused all suggestions and worried everyone in the process.

I thought whilst I was feeling adventurous I'd share with you some of the plans I've always wanted to make, trips we're in the middle of booking and my plans to relive some of my past holidays.

1. HEAD BACK TO DISNEYLAND PARIS.
This has been in talks for a couple of weeks, myself and two of my best friends have been discussing a trip to Paris and as you can imagine my head is going crazy for Disneyland. My latest trip was my 2015 TRIP and it really knocked my travelling confidence, it would be wonderful to get back to Paris and see the sights and experience the Disney magic all over again.

2. CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK.
Obviously this is everyone's dream, am I right? This would be a dream come true and I'd be worried to book this trip just incase it doesn't meet expectations, I'd be heartbroken. We've talked numerous times about taking a short break to NYC and it's always been a dream of mine, there's always been different reasons which meant this hasn't happened but I'd 100% cry the day I get to Times Square and walk across Brooklyn Bridge - I wish I was just exaggerating but trust me, I'm not.

3. HIKE IN CALIFORNIA, Y'KNOW THE HIKE TO THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN.
If I wrote a post about all the adventures I want to take in the United States...we'd be here for days. But one of my dream travelling adventures would be to do the trail/hike to the Hollywood sign, cliche I know.

4. VISIT DISNEYLAND IN ANAHEIM WHILST IN LA.
Growing up the only Disney I really knew was Florida, that doesn't mean I've actually visited their either and I've always dreamed of the day I book a holiday to visit Florida in all it's glory. Disney World, Universal Studios and everything in between. But I'd also LOVE to see California, and whilst in LA why not see the beauty of the original Disneyland which was the only one to have design help by Mr Walt Disney himself...also any excuse to wear my Minnie ears and feel at home!

5. VISIT MY BROTHER IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.
As ridiculous as this may seem (apart from the Paris trip) this is my most realistic plan from this list - okay, most realistic for 2017 anyway. Who doesn't want to travel to the other side of the world? But who would want to do it when they've suffered travel anxiety for the last couple of years - me apparently? Whilst I'm feeling confident about travelling, I'm not unaware of how this difficult this could be for my anxiety, but by the time we travel out their I'll have not seen my little brother in 7 months and seeing him, having dream holiday with Tom and being in the beautiful country, I think it'll all be worth it in the end.

6. VISIT LUNA PARK AND WALK THE SYDNEY BRIDGE.
Like the Olsen twins in Our Lips Are Sealed, anyone?
If you've never seen the film, please watch and then come back to this post and if you need refreshing I mentioned this film in a post HERE. I'd watch this film on repeat when I was 10 years old and have dreamed of visiting LUNA PARK [which I didn't know was a REAL THING] until this year and conquering my fear of heights with walking across THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE. Again another thing I thought was just part of the movie, oh Australia I'm SO excited to visit!

7. JUST BOOK A RELAXING HOLIDAY W/ TOM.
...And get the best damn sun tan ever. With us currently planning Australia and a few things happening within our lives right now, we think we'll hold this one off until next year but we're both desperate for some time away. I'm hoping a last minute holiday to Greece or Italy can be planned, but if that's not possible, going to the Seaside in the UK would suffice for me.

8. COTTAGE UK WEEKEND BREAK.
Preferably by the beach, please?! In 2015 we took a similar trip w/ my family, 10 of us in a house for 7 days was...let's say, manic? We have family in Cornwall so we were never lost for places to visit and people to see and it was a wonderful trip, just left me with a headache. Back in February this year I went with my two best friends and 6 other friends and something about that weekend helped bring back the excitement for getting away and taking breaks. I've been searching the internet since for new cottages and other interesting places to visit throughout the UK.

If I began to top up the cost of all these adventures, I'd soon run out of money. I'm really excited for myself that I feel excited once again to get out there and begin these experiences but until each one is possible, I'll definitely keep this post at hand to look back and remind myself of the things I want to do and want to see, it's possible I could look back in a few years time and realise the breakthrough I've had - keep an eye out for more travel updates and any future blog posts.
