25 THINGS I'VE LEARNT IN 25 YEARS.

25 THINGS I'VE LEARNT IN 25 YEARS.

23 is my lucky number.

March 23rd is my favourite day,
and today is that day.

Today, March 23rd 2018, I turn 25 and I'm unsurprisingly so excited. Unfortunately for me, my 24th year had a rocky start and was a roller coaster throughout the year, sadly for me 24 wasn't everything I wanted or expected it to be and you can imagine I'm SO glad to say goodbye to 24 and that part of me and I'm looking forward to seeing what my 25th year has to offer.

Without sounding like a huge cliche, I'm being to feel at that age where I'm about to *peak*, where do you go from 25? Should this be the age I've found a secure job, where I feel settled in a relationship and at an age when I shouldn't be considering moving back home with my parents - unfortunately I'm feeling the opposite and beginning to question how things will change in the next five years - yep, I'm already considering if I'll still feel this way when I'm about to turn thirty *help me*.

ANYWAY today; on my birthday {you can send me birthday tweets, here} lol, seriously.

I thought it would be cute to share 25 things I've learnt in 25 years...because obviously what better way to celebrate my coming of age.

1. YOUR 'AFTER GRADUATION' JOB MIGHT STICK LONGER THAN EXPECTED - BUT THAT'S OKAY.
2. YOU'RE 100% GOING TO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON POINTLESS SHIT.
3. BUT MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING.
4. YOUR DREAM OF TRAVELLING THE WORLD WONT BE EASY.
5. OR MAYBE TRAVELLING JUST ISN'T FOR ME.
6. THAT BEING SAID - TANNED SKIN DOESN'T LAST AS LONG AS IT DID AS A TEENAGER.
7. HOWEVER HANGOVERS LAST TWICE AS LONG AS THEY DID COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE 18.
8. THE NIGHTS OUT ARE MORE FUN NOW YOU'RE OLDER THOUGH.
9. MORE MONEY, BETTER TOLERANCE, LESS RESTRICTIONS, NO RULES.
10. FRIENDSHIPS DON'T LAST FOREVER.
11. NEITHER DOES LOVE (THIS ONE HURTS THE MOST).
12. BUT SOMETIMES IF IT MEANS GETTING RID OF TOXIC PEOPLE; YOU'RE BETTER OFF.

13. DRESS SIZE ISN'T EVERYTHING AS LONG AS YOU'RE HAPPY.
14. AND GOING TO THE GYM DIDN'T IMPROVE MY MENTAL HEALTH LIKE I WAS PROMISED.
15. BUT DISNEY FILMS FIX EVERYTHING.
16. DISNEYLAND PARIS FIXES EVERYTHING TOO,
17. BINGE WATCHING A TV SERIES IN ONE DAY IS SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF.
18. MOVING AWAY FROM HOME IS A GREAT IDEA.
19. BUT SOMETIMES 'HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS' IS AN HONEST STATEMENT.
20. STOP QUESTIONING IT AND DO THE THINGS YOU LOVE.
21. EVEN IF IT DOESN'T IMPRESS EVERYONE AROUND YOU.
22. YOU'LL FIND PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS CARE FOR YOU.
23. BE SURE TO HOLD ONTO THOSE PEOPLE.
24. YOUR FRIENDS ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP YOU; HOWEVER STUPID YOU FEEL FOR IT.
25. YOU CAN AND YOU HAVE SURVIVED MORE THAN YOU THINK.

There's plenty I'd change about my 24th but because I'm a believer in fate; I'm constantly reminding myself that I wouldn't be the person I am today, I wouldn't be where I am and that everything happens for a reason. So whilst I'm in a constant battle with my mind wishing things were different I'm also grateful for the challenges I've been faced with this year.

So I guess it's a happy birthday to me

X

PS. I'm currently on holiday with my best friends, I've been enjoying a much needed NINE days off from work this week. Last weekend my brother whose been living in Australia since March 2017; came home. Luckily for me I had help from my aunty to surprise my parents and my nan with his return before spending the weekend as a family, which let me tell you - this was the best start to my week off for my birthday. So I can't wait to fill you in on my week.
