New Hair, New Products.

Okay, if we're being completely the honest my hair is no longer what I'd define as 'new' and although it's been 3 months since my big hair change, the products I'm using and the style I'm creating is still something I'm getting used to, and with the new hair comes the new products, so I thought it was about time to share the products that I've been loving for my new look.

This time last year I'd taken the plunge for the white blonde hair and this time round I've got vivid red - I've enjoyed sharing my experiences with my blonde hair and whilst I'm no expert people seemed to enjoy the posts; so I'm back at it with the hair posts, just with a completely different colour.

I've actually been a red-head before and honestly I took very little care with it. Actually it hasn't been until last year that I've focused my attention on improving my haircare.

So it's been quiet refreshing to finding new products. With having such a bright colour I wanted to find a way of keeping the colours vibrant so I made sure to pick up the Tresemme Colour Revitalising shampoo & conditioner (which btw are half price in Wilko). Over time the colour does fade but thankfully the shampoo and conditioner lasts a little longer, unfortunately I'm not sure whether it's a clash between the colour and my natural oils or whether it's two heavy products but my hair gets way too greasy, way too quickly - so I've started only using the shampoo. I also picked up the Herbal Essences Ignite My Colour Shampoo last month and my hair isn't as greasy now! But like many of you the Batiste Dry Shampoo is my best friend on those greasy days - and is the perfect answer when my hair feels flat and uncontrollable.

I've been switching it up my routine by alternatively using the Tresemme and the Balmain Volume Shampoo*. Honestly I'm seeing only a little difference in my hair, it's feeling fuller and slightly thicker and I'm sure if I only use this product I'll really notice the difference. My one pet peeve with this bottle is the pump - it's very stiff and I struggle to get much product...as you can imagine it's a pain in the arse when in the shower!

The most tedious thing since switching up my hair colour has been the upkeep. I'm the laziest girl in the world when it comes to hair care so keeping it healthy is a struggle; so you can imagine the effort it takes to keep it full of colour. Similar to when I had Grey Hair I'm having to take extra care of keeping colours full and vibrant.

Whilst with my grey hair I was using Toners & silver shampoos; there's very little 'red' products to keep this colour alive - that was until I was lucky enough to test out the Jerome Russel Pro Colour Renew*. A no ammonia, peroxide or PPD, colour conditioning treatment to bring back that full colour; this only needs 3-10 minutes before being washed away and my hair is SO bright and 100% softer since application and I can get another use out of the bottle too! Whilst I'm in love with the vibrant colour, unfortunately the colour ran through to my blonde tips which I'd kept uncoloured as I wanted to keep blonde but I'm in love with the fuller colour...and I secretly feel like Ariel now.

The Pro Colour Renew is available in 8 more shades and is perfect for most shades.
