DATE IDEAS IN BIRMINGHAM

Whether it's day, night or weekends away; one thing I really love about my relationship is going on dates.

And I guess when you're still in the 'love bubble' of a new relationship, they're all the more 'special' aren't they? And I'm very aware this excitement may change over time, time money and other adult excuses might just make these currently regular dates a little more irregular...and so I'm going to take every opportunity whilst I can!

J and I have been extremely lucky having stretched dates into overnight stays and day trips outside of Birmingham. After years of anxiety and issues holding me back, I'm so pleased that I've become this adventure seeker. Constantly taking note of events, trips or generally new things to try.

Like I said, we've been very lucky with the plans we've made this year.

There's something I really appreciate about going on dates; it's something I found fun even when I was single but truth be told I love it all the more now. Maybe it's the opportunity of being alone together, learning more about each other and just oh my god, the laughs you end up having together.

And even with everything we've got planned outside of the city centre, there's nothing like date night in our own home town of Birmingham.

I threw this post idea to J last week and we discussed all the things we've done and suggested we start a list of all the things we haven't yet and by now I think you know the drill...please send me any recommendations I've missed.

There's just so much going on around Birmingham, for a girl who's grown up here...even I can get a little lost. So in an attempt to make it easier for myself and everyone else, here's our list of date ideas for when you're in Birmingham...

1. GHETTO GOLF - we've done this twice now and it's so fun!
2. GIGS - bands/comedians/acts - you name it, they'll probs be in bham.
3. THEATRE SHOWS.
4. ALUNA BAR
5. LANE 7 - shout out to my pals who work here!
6. 200 DEGREES COFFEE
7. WILDWOOD - so peaceful, perfect if you don't like crowded places.
8. UBRAN COFFEE - most of first few dates were here, so chill.
9. ORGINAL PATTY MAN & KILDER BAR.
10. BREW DOGS.
11. EVERYMAN CINEMA
12. BROADWAY PLAZA - can't believe I'm saying this... but so much to do on the plaza!
13. THE PHYSICIAN
14. TILT - they have arcade games and a bar, looks pretty damn perfect.
15. COCKTAILS BY THE CANAL - too many bars to mention on the canal side, maybe a pub crawl?
16. BOURNE & CO.
17. THE RAGE ROOMS - you should do this, so much fun!
18. GAS STREET SOCIAL - I hear they do bottomless brunch and that sounds amazing.

The possibilities are endless in Birmingham but I guess when you've grown up with it all on your doorstep you kind of forget what you can do. I'm so excited for us to work our way through this list and revisit some of our favourites.

Where's your favourite place in Birmingham? Whats your go-to date plans?
