With Valentines Day looming it's really got me thinking what our plans are this year. I always thought I'd be the hopeless romantic but I guess over the years the novelty of the V-Day kind of wore off. And with that little bit of honesty out the way - it worries me that I'm not arsed by it all anymore. Why don't I want to be showered with affection, the flowers and the [every so slightly] cringeworthy cards? Will I manage to change my mind before February 14th comes around?

My attitude towards Valentines Day made sense when I was single, but common knowledge tell you all that I am in-fact no longer single.

And whether I think all this stuff is a little too mushy for me, it always slips my mind that J might actually enjoy spending the day celebrating us and our relationship. So in an attempt to convert myself into a Valentine's Day lovin' kind of gal, after the success of my previous date night post, I thought I'd share with you some new and more winter relevant ideas for in and around Birmingham...

Whether or not Valentine's Day was near, me and J are always on the look out for new date ideas, so I'll put together a list of places I've seen massively raved about online, we've already visited and loved or just seen in passing and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to check out. So I present to you; 21 date ideas in Birmingham.

1. LANE 7 - yep, we've still not been yet.
2. THE GIN VAULT - as long as you're both gin fans...
3. 2-4-1 COCKTAILS AT SLUG & LETTUCE
4. AN AFTERNOON AT THE SEA LIFE CENTRE - I haven't done this in forever, omg would be so fun.
5. OR THE MUSEUM.
6. EVERYMAN CINEMA.
7. THE KITTY CAFE - as long as you don't have allergies.
8. THEATRE SHOWS - there's so many good ones in Birmingham & the surrounding areas soon!

Over the years I always thought Birmingham had very little to offer and to be truthfully honest, I was getting bored. Over the course of this year I've really kept an eye on different opportunities in the are and found so many gems and have completely fallen in love with my city again.

At the end of the day even if I'm not a massive fan of V-Day, I love having the chance to spend my time with J and we've agreed to a date day around Valentine's; whether it's the day itself or within the week of and having all this options for us to experience the fun within the city and spend a full day together, I am all for it!

Biggest question is, where do we go first?
