Luckily, I've not completely isolated from the outside world, I've been in contact with my friends daily, zoom calls and weekly quiz nights and keeping in contact with my family as much as possible too - so I've not felt too disconnected from my people anyways - truly, making the best of a bad situation.
But this time has effected us all differently and one way I've focused on getting through this weird time has been our *date nights* - not the normal nights we usually have planned, but spending our evenings watching our movies is my favourites and easiest date night.
That being said, I don't believe I would've been able to survive the last couple of months if J wasn't with me, I shared some relationship truths while we've been stuck at home together and today I thought I'd help us all with some simple lockdown date night ideas, whether you're living with the person you're dating or even if you're new to the dating scene (thanks Birmingham dating site)
I've tried to keep my ideas as fun as possible, just to keep everyone smiling and to make these moments a little more memorable; so whether you're in a long term relationship or still gathering your bearings together, I hope these ideas will add that little extra bit of fun into your future date nights:
∙ MOVIE NIGHT IN A FORT
∙ CAMPING IN THE GARDEN
∙ HOME CINEMA IN THE GARDEN.
∙ CANDLE LIT DINNER
∙ FACETIME TAKEAWAY DATE
∙ LIVESTREAM EVENINGS - DJ SETS, GIGS, FUNDRAISERS ETC.
∙ COCKTAIL MASTERCLASS
∙ GAMES NIGHT & PUZZLES
∙ BREAKFAST IN BED
∙ QUIZ NIGHTS W/ PALS
∙ THEATRE NIGHT
∙ PICNIC IN THE PARK
We're unable to fully appreciate dating at the moment, but these small moments that we usually take for granted, the weird date nights we'll have and especially for myself and J we're enjoying the fact that these moments we'll remember for quite some time. Living in Birmingham we've got so many places right on our doorstep that we're eager to see again - so if you're dating Birmingham and you've got your post lockdown date's already in that diary, check out my date night ideas; here for more inspiration.
What fun date nights have you had during lockdown? (...I must admit, I'm desperate to build a fort for a movie night) Where's the first place you'll be going when lockdown has been completely lifted?
